Miranda Craigwell

Miranda Craigwell is studying for her Master’s Degree in Theatre Practices at Rose Bruford College and is specializing in acting and playwriting. After graduating from Brown University in 2004 with a B.A. in Literatures and Cultures in English, she traveled to London for a year on an academic fellowship. While in London, Miranda became a slam poet, performing her written work in various venues around London. She was Farrago Central London poetry slam champion in 2005 and performed at the Rose Bruford College annual Symposium in April. As a writer she has assisted in the final editing and proofreading of the scholarly edition, The Modern World of Neith Boyce: Autobiography and Diaries, lectured on the Turkish Embassy letters at Baskent University in Ankara, Turkey in 2004 and published We Will all Marry or Be Teachers, a travel writing piece, in 2005. Her most recent acting and writing work at Rose Bruford College includes Hypergraphia, a devised piece which she co-wrote with Emma Jowett, Fewer Emergencies by Martin Crimp, and Stoning Mary by Debbie Tucker Green.

Colin Goodwin

Colin Goodwin is studying for his Master’s degree in Theatre Practices at Rose Bruford College and is specializing in playwriting. He graduated from the same institution in 2003 with a BA with Honors in American Theatre Arts (the pioneering year of that course). He spent his entire second year studying American theatre in Texas at Stephen F. Austin State University as part of the course. Colin has worked with many practitioners including David Edgar, Richard Bean, James McLure, Jack Hefner, Steven Dykes, Jessica Dromgoole and Aleks Sierz and is also currently Duty Manager at Soho theatre and Writer’s center. In 2005 his play, A Commitment to Dialogue, was short listed for the Westminster prize. In 2006 he worked in collaboration with the National Youth Theatre, Soho Theatre and The100 Words Project to write Oke Koaky Koaky, which was directed by Natasha Betteridge.

Melanie Hillyard

Melanie Hillyard is studying for her Master’s Degree in Theatre Practices at Rose Bruford College and is specializing in Directing. Mel graduated with an MDrama Degree from the University of Kent in 2006. She has trained with the Moscow Art Theatre School, Studium Teatralne and the University of Berkeley in California. As a director she has directed 'Loose Ends' by Stuart Hepburn, which was originally performed at the Gulbenkian Theatre Canterbury and was then transferred to the Horsebridge Arts Centre, Whitstable and subsequently taken to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where it was performed for a week at the Cafe Royal Fringe Theatre in 2006. Her most recent assistant direction work at Rose Bruford College includes The Country written by Martin Crimp and directed by Tony James and Stoning Mary written by Debbie Tucker Green and directed by Kathy Dacre.

Emma Jowett

Emma Jowett is studying for her Master’s degree in Theatre Practices at Rose Bruford College and is specializing in acting and playwriting. She completed her degree in International Theatre at Royal Holloway University, London / Queensland University, Australia. As an actor she has performed at the Pleasance Theatre, Camden People's Theatre, the 'Doing Lines' festival (in association with Royal Court Young Writers) and toured Northern Italy. Emma is also an associate artist with London based companies Analogue and Theatre Trash. Her most recent acting and writing work at Rose Bruford College includes Hypergraphia, a devised piece which she co-wrote with Miranda Craigwell, Fewer Emergencies by Martin Crimp, and Stoning Mary by Debbie Tucker Green. She will also be performing at the Pleasance during Edinburgh fringe this summer with Analogue theatre's production Mile End.
